Lovin' a bit of Bevers

I have to say, I am getting right into the new Beverly Hills 90210.

I was a huge fan of the original back in 1990 and have fond memories of debating the hotness of Jason over Dylan, trying to recreate Brenda and Kelly's outfit ensembles and bitching about what a skank Donna was.

Now I have well outgrown the target audience for the show, but still find myself tuning in each week to follow these spoilt bratty kids. I don't usually rate teen shows... I can't handle the OC and am not into Gossip Girl (I do harbour a secret addiction to that fast-talking freaky mother/daughter duo the Gilmore Girls though).

Anyway... the new Bevers. If you haven't checked it out yet, give it a go!

P.s. All you old skool fans - keep your eyes peeled for Brenda and Kelly, they are still around and still fighting over Dylan!!

Ola senoritas!!

Firstly... pardon me, my bloginess has again become tardy but here i am, refreshed and eager to get back on track.

There is a lot to fill you in on, starting with Mark and my second 'surprise flight' adventure in late February which took us off to sunny Satander, Spain!! It was a lovely trip - firstly because I didn't have to organise anything and found this surprisingly refreshing!

It is no secret amongst those of you who know me well, that I am a total control freak to the point where I can be openly annoying through my pedantic penchant for being early (rather than on time), first in the queue and my obsession to fully equip myself with every instruction, direction, back-up plan and map I can find.

Let's face it, I am practically the embodiment of the girl guide motto of 'be prepared' and had I applied myself better I could have been my Brownie troop's star pupil (unfortunately I grow bored easily and have a tendency to rebel against authority so my bad habits of getting up to mischief often got between me and my top-of-the-class potential).

Luckily for me, my nearest and dearest have learnt to harness this most annoying habit and use it to their advantage... getting me to organise everything from holidays and weddings to job applications and hair appointments.

Anyway, back to Spain... while there was a bit of adjustment period where I had to let go of being 100% in control, it certainly wasn't too painful or traumatic because I fully trust Mark. And he bloody did me proud, by organising top class accommodation, hassle-free airport transfers and a glorious weekend of entertainment and fun.

Highlights included walking along the beach (something I had been sorely missing), a fancy meal out in Santander casino and wandering the clubbing district - where we came across what had to have been the worst drag queen show either of us had seen. ever.

The biggest challenge of the weekend was definitely the language barrier. No one in Santander spoke English and the extent of my manners stretched to "Dos, par far vor" ("two please") which I could execute with a meek smile, pointing to the food or drink in question.

Mark even out-shone my holiday efforts by booking us on well-scheduled flights that meant we didn't have any zombie-inducing early morning starts or middle-of-the night returns.

In summary Santander was awesome... if you get the chance - go to Spain, it rocks!
