So allow me to let you in a little game I like to call 'Surprise Flight'...
Towards the end of last year, during one of Ryan Air's super 5 pound flight sales, my good pal Mark and I decided to book a couple of trips in, to help us get through the miserable winter months ahead.
The rules were... we both chose a weekend (telling the other to blank this out in our diaries). Then, individually, we make all the plans for our chosen weekend - not telling the other anything about where we're off to. The obvious risk being that we would have selected the same destination, but figured it was worth the odds.
In January it was my turn... and we took off to stunning, sunny Marseille (in the south of France) for the weekend. It was awesome! After weeks and dreary weeks of sub-zero London weather we finally got our long-awaited fix of Vitamin D.
We partied with some really odd non-English speaking french people in one of the coolest night clubs I've ever been to (Trolleybus, if you're ever out that way check it out... tell the crazsy bar tender in the rock room that i sent you and he'll fix you up with a round of vodka redbulls), we tackled our hangovers front on and climbed what felt 750 steps to take in the magical view of the Notre Dame de la Garde and my bare arms saw direct sunlight for the first time in about four month!

Anyhoo, next weekend is Mark's turn and knowing NOTHING about where we're going, what language they speak there and what we'll do there is slowly killing me.Lucky it's Mark and I trust him. Watch this space to see where we end up going!!!
